Since the day of the earthquake, this is the 10th fire ritual to be held in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Two previous rituals were held in Akhnoor and Udhampur.

Airtel is the state's lone private cellular service provider. After one year in insurgency-hit Jammu and Kashmir, Airtel has added two lakh customers to its network.

Currently, Airtel is present in 12 districts out of 14 districts.
